1. Turn on Onion Skinning

· In the status bar of the Timeline click the Onion Skinning button

2. Turn on Outline Onion Skinning

· In the status bar of the timeline click the Outline Onion Skinning button

3. Adjusting the number of frames included in Onion Skinning

· In the timeline click the Modify Onion Markers button

-A pop up menu will appear that contains commands for setting the way onion skin markers work

· To see frames on either side of the current frame you may do one of the following

- To see two frames on either side of the current frame, choose Onion 2

- To see five frames on either side of the current frame, choose Onion 5

- To see all the frames in the movie, choose Onion all

Other fun facts…

- Flash doesn’t show the contents of locked layers in onion-skin views

- Drag onion-skin markers in the Timeline to include more frames or fewer frames in the onion skin view

- You can prevent the onionskin markers from moving each time you select a new frame in the Timeline. Set the markers to encompass the frames you want to see together. From the Modify Onion Markers menu, choose Anchor Onion. As long as you keep selecting frames inside the anchored range, the anchored set of frames stays in Onion Skin mode

In-Between Frames

Creating In-Between frames

1. Open a Flash Document with Keyframes and content in Frame 1 and Frame 2

2. In the Timeline, Position the playhead in Keyframe 1

3. Choose Insert>Timeline>Frame or you may press F5 on your keyboard

-Flash adds an in-between frame and in it is the content of your first Keyframe.

What is the difference between Keyframes and In-Between Frames?

KeyFrames- Crucial frames that define a movement

In-Between Frames- Incorporate the incremental changes necessary to simulate the movement.
